OBJECTIVES:
· TSWBAT create a park landscaping plan based on info gained from internet searches & resource books.
· TSWBAT use the internet to obtain information about plants used for landscaping.
· TSWBAT identify growing conditions for trees, shrubs, and herbs.
MATERIALS:
· Poster board

SET/FOCUS:
· ABK/RRL/IAL: Raise your hand if you have been to the park? Get with your neighbor and think of three plants you would see at the park. Have each group share their three plants with class. Make master list on white board.
· LL: For the next few days, we are going to research and plan a courtyard to submit to the administrators in the school.
INSTRUCTION:
· It will be explained to students that they will be making posters of a courtyard. They are responsible for choosing flowers, trees, bushes, and other plants to place in the courtyard.
o Students will be placed in groups of four to complete the webquest
o It will be explained to the students that they are responsible for one aspect of the park.
o Each student will complete the webquest on their own after they have chosen the park aspect they want to research.
o Then the groups will get back together to compile and design their courtyard.

· Students will be given a journal prompt: Two things I learned about plants that I did not know was…..
· Students will present their findings and facts in form of group presentation.
